WARREN, LEONARD (1911-60)
Operatic baritone. A leading artist for many years with the Metropolitan Opera, especially noted for his portrayals of the leading baritone roles in the operas of Verdi. In his day there were few baritone rivals.
SP – Signed Photograph: Sol Hurok publicity still by Sedge LeBlanc. Black and white gelatin silvertone glossy 8″x10″ character still signed in white India ink. From the MET production of “Rigoletto” as the hunchback court jestor. An evocative image for these times.
Tragically, Warren died on stage at age 48. Matted under original board. Some residue tape on the reverse, else very good to fine.
