Price, Vincent (1911 – 93)
American star of stage, screen and TV; author, epicurean, art authority. One of the great Renaissance men in American show business.
Hand – drawn self-portrait accomplished in ballpoint pen. Professionally double-matted in blue and yellow tones with a 8″x10″ color glossy character still as Egghead from Batman. Encased under glass and a bronze-ribbed motif metallic frame.
Although Price is, perhaps, best remembered for his many roles in horror films, he also was a respected art authority (serving as a consult to Sears Roebuck). Mr. Price left a sizeable portion of his estate to the East Los Angeles College to establish the Vincent and Mary Price Art Gallery. It was this dealer’s privilege to review Mr. Price in one of his last performances and to correspond with him for over 20 years.
