A.L.S. – Autograph Letter Signed, one page, July 5, 1943, written to the future Cardinal Gerlier. Seeks his assistance in obtaining some ocular medication for a friend (or staff member) – Father P. Antonio Stravino, S.J. Stravino was once the rector of the Pontifical Seminary in Pontano. He may have been an earlier teacher of Ottaviani or a staff member in the Holy Office. Back panel of official letterhead has a response from the pharmacy in Lyon. Routine but nice example. Usual folds, light toning but, overall, very good. Comes with a small reprint image of Ottaviani.
