Dickey, James (1923 – 97)
American poet and novelist. He was appointed the 18th Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress in 1966. He also received the Order of the South award.
TLS – Typewritten Letter Signed, one page, January 1982. Addressed to a Southern bookseller about books he signed and returned. Miniscule staining in the right hand corner and folds but nothing affects the typing or signature. Sufficient room for matting with an image. We have included a small black/white informal shot.
Dickey authored several books but is, perhaps, best remembered for his 1970 opus Deliverance that was adapted to the screen in 1972. It co-starred Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty and Ronny Cox. Who can forget Squeal like a pig.
