DEPEW, Chauncey (1834 – 1928)
American attorney, businessman, and Republican politician. He is, perhaps, best remembered for his two terms as US Senator from New York and for his work for Cornelius Vanderbilt, as an attorney and president of the New York Central Railroad.
SIG – Vintage signature on a small card, accomplished in fountain pen. Sufficient room for matting with the small color print image of Depew that accompanies the signature.
In 1865 he was appointed and confirmed US Minister to Japan but declined the appointment to pursue a railroad career.
NOTA BENE: We have two signed cards and images of Depew.
