Following comprehensive school at age 16, Brosnan trained in commercial illustration, then went on to study at the Drama Centre in London for three years. Following a stage acting career he rose to popularity in the TV series Remington Steel (1982-87), which blended the genres of romantic comedy, drama, and detective procedural.
Brosnan has appeared in films such as the Cold War spy film The Fourth Protocol (1987) and the comedy Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) co-starring the late Robin Williams. He is, perhaps, best known as the fifth actor to play secret agent James Bond in the Bond film series, starring in four films from 1995-2002 and for portraying the character in several video games.
