de Rayneval was under-secretary of state for Froeign Affairs under the Restoration. Served as Minister Plenipotentiary in Naples; Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Hautpoul Government. Ambassador to the Holy See from 1850-57, then to St. Petersburg in 1857. He died before he could take up his post.
