Archbishop of New York; auxiliary bishop of Boston under Cardinal O’Connell. Military vicar to the Armed Forces. Long-time friend of Pope Pius XII. Author and well-known philatelist. Bequeathed a large stamp collection to Regis College, Weston MA.
