ALS – Autograph Letter Signed, circa October 1921. Hurriedly penned on two sides of stationary from Aldywch Theatre, London, congratulating actor Clifton Webb on performance – opening night. More than likely this was the 17 October 1921 show “Fun at the Fayre” (London Pavillion). Novello mentions trying to get back stage with Bobbie (Robert Andrews, his life-partner of 35 years) but “…there was such a scrimmage at the stage door that Bobbie and I fled for our lives…”
