TLS – Typewritten Letter Signed, one page, April 1969. Addressed to a Mr. Buchanan. While this is a “circular” letter sent to hundreds of well-wishers, the cardinal has penned the salutation and closing with his signature. On Archbishop’s House letterhead, Edinburgh, Scotland. Reads: I wish I could write a more personal letter than this to thank you for your wonderful message of congratulation on the occasion of the honor the Holy Father has conferred in my person on the Catholics of Scotland. But so many letters and telegrams have already arrived. I am quite overwhelmed. To you, and to those on whose behalf you have written, I want to express my sincere and warmest thanks. Thank you so much. Please pray for me… Photo for illustrative purposes only.
