Diller, Phyllis (1917 – 2013)
American stand-up comedian, actress, author, pianist and visual artist, best known for her eccentric stage persona, self-deprecating humor, wild hair and clothes, and exaggerated, cackling laugh.
SMALL ARCHIVE – A fascinating archive of letters and typewritten interviews conducted with Ms. Diller over a period several years. Many of her responses in these interviews have never been published (more than 20 typewritten pages). Included are early photographs and other memorabilia to include interviews with colleagues Rod McKuen and Jimmy Kirkwood, among others.
To our knowledge, Ms. Diller never published a full – length autobiography; thus, this primary material would be of great value to a writer. It was this dealer’s privilege to know Ms. Diller for more than 35 years.
