Francis R. Seymour

We deep sadness we mourn the recent death of Reverend Monsignor Francis R. Seymour of the Archdiocese of Newark.  “Father Frank” was a friend and client for 45 years.  He had a keen interest in American Church history.  Not only did he collect autographs of cardinals and other prelates, but also was an avid collector of funeral memorial cards of prelates (said to have one of the largest collections in existence). During his illustrious career, Frank was apostolic administrator of some 40 parishes, archivist of the Archdiocese of Newark and Seton Hall.  He also served as administrative assistant to Archbishop Peter Leo Gerety, the oldest living prelate at the time.  It was a rare privilege to know and collaborate with Monsignor Seymour.  He will be missed.
